CCDThe charge-coupled device (CCD) was invented in the late 1960s by researchers at Bell Labs. Originally conceived as a new type of computer memory circuit, it soon became apparent that the CCD had many other potential applications, including signal processing and imaging because of silicon's light sensitivity.  The CCD sensor in a digital camera acts as the primary tool to capture an image. In its most elementary form, the CCD sensor is like the camera's "electronic eye", collecting light and converting it into a charge, and subsequently emitting the signal that results in a digital image. CCD technology is widely used in many electronic devices such as digital still cameras, computer video cameras and cell phones.

Yes. The ImaSight4600 Vision Imaging Tool is able to communicate with Practice Management Software (PMS). If you want to know what PMS we can interface with, please contact us

Yes. The ImaSight4600 solution offers different solutions to protect your image files. First, the workstation provided with your ImaSight4600 sensor comes with 2 high capacity hard drives.  The second hard drive is a mirror copy of the first one.  If the first one is damaged, the second has exactly the same data that can be recovered easily.

Another solution is to add an external hard drive to the workstation for backup purpose.  This allows the professional to disconnect the external drive and store it in a safe place or bring it home.

Off-site storage is also possible. Your image files are periodically backed up on a server in another building, generally an ISP (Internet Service Provider).  Everything is done automatically and safely.

Yes, the ImaSight4600 is designed to facilitate your diagnostic tasks. You may add comments to the images and you can highlight any specific area.  There are plenty of features allowing you to do a lot more than you can with traditional x-ray films.

Yes. Why bother with a ruler and a pencil? It is easier and more powerful to do your measurements and angles on our ImaSight4600 Vision Imaging tool. The ImaSight4600 software knows the exact size of the image.  Just draw a line, and obtain the length, draw a line adjacent to another line and get the angle between them.  If you want to see the original image without the comments and lines, there's a button to remove them without losing them.
